Stay with us on July 4, 2010 to celebrate the Fourth in Dahlonega on the historic town square. The day will be filled with fun activities – a pet show (in the past dogs, cats, pigs and chickens have been in the show), a Patriotic Ceremony on the lawn of the Gold Museum, annual reading of the US Constitution on the courthouse steps, a watermelon cutting by the Boy Scouts, an antique auto show and musicians filling the square with diverse sounds of bluegrass, folk and country music. The Independence Day Parade through the historic square will begin around 5pm and end just in time to find a spot on the nearby drill field of North Georgia College & State University to await the fireworks show.

What a great way to celebrate our nation’s birthday!
