Listeners and musicians alike are invited to enjoy the acoustic bluegrass and old-time string music at the 2011 Dahlonega Appalachian Jam, every Saturday, April 23 through October 8, 2011, 2-5 pm, on the Dahlonega Gold Museum State Historic Site downtown.
The July 16th host band, JED, is serious about mountain songs and mountain style. They are Edward Hunter on fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and guitar, and Joel Cordle on mandolin and guitar. The group’s mandolins, fiddles, banjos, guitars, soul-stirring songs tell a story; while their harmony singing rings from the mountains, valleys, caverns, and creeks of the South. Edward & Joel are two old-timers who can still whip the stuffings out of a bluegrass song and coax a tear from the heart of the sentimental listener.
