Celebrating the Appalachian Trail, Dahlonega’s designation as an ATC Trail Community, non-motorized outdoor recreation including backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking, trail running.
Features speakers, films, workshops, vendors, information booths, equipment representatives, music, food, equipment giveaways, equipment silent auction, beer and wine garden.
Gold Rush Days is happening this coming weekend.
We have a yurt available this weekend as well (2 night minimum).
Over 300 art and craft exhibitors gather around the Public Square and Historic District in support of this annual event, and it is estimated that a crowd of over 200,000 visit over the weekend to join in the fun and excitement!
It has been voted one of the Top 20 Events in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.
Included in the two-day event are a parade, children’s activities, a fashion show, gold panning contest, wheelbarrow race, King and Queen Coronation, hog calling, buck dancing contest, gospel singing and other live entertainment, wrist wrestling, and last but not least – some delicious food!

HemlockFest is an all-ages, eco-friendly event with 100% of the proceeds aiding efforts to save our hemlock trees by minimizing the impact of the hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA), which is an introduced parasitic insect killing the hemlocks of North Georgia at an alarming rate.
Come stay with us for a weekend in June and attend the 12th Annual Georgia Wine Country Festival at Three Sisters Winery.
This popular wine event has been extended to every weekend (rain or shine) in June. Free General Admission. Free Live Music! A Wine Garden featuring guest Georgia Wineries from around the state will be presented for a fee inside the festival. Participating wineries include Boutier, Chateau Elan, The Cottage Vineyards, Georgia Winery, Sautee-Nachoochee, Three Sisters and more. Food and wine will also be available to purchase. Music during the weekends includes the Polite Jazz and Standards of Tommy Dean and Mike Ewbank AKA Moose & Squirrel, Old Time, Americana and Bluegrass of The Buzzard Mountain Boys Hootenanny featuring Special Guests Ann Whitley of the Rosen Sisters, Doug Singleton, The Three Arrows and more.

Pre-festival events will occur on Friday, April 19, with the beginning of jamming on the Historic Public Square and the Live Country Auction that night.
On Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, there will be free admission on-stage performances by local, regional, and national musicians throughout the day in the MainStage Tent across from Hancock Park with a heavy emphasis on bluegrass and old-time music from the Southern Appalachian region.
A juried Artist Marketplace on the square, Saturday and Sunday, features traditional mountain crafts, and there will also be a Country Store at Hancock Park. More jamming on the square and music workshops on Saturday and Sunday, a Sunday morning Gospel Jam, a Saturday evening old-time Mountain Dance, a Saturday Open Mic event, kids activities, and food complete the offerings.

The vernal equinox marks the first day of spring. In 2013, the equinox occurs on March 20, right in the middle of the NOrthBOund Thru Hiker kickoff season at Springer Mountain, the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. The third annual Spring on Springer Dahlonega TrailFest will celebrate Dahlonega’s designation as an AT Trail Community by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and Dahlonega’s position as the southern gateway to the Appalachian Trail. It will be held on March 22-24 on the cusp of the first day of spring in Dahlonega, Georgia.
The Trail Fest will include camping, speakers, films, music, shuttles to Springer Mountain and Amicalola Falls, equipment vendors, and workshops on such topics as safety, camping techniques, and equipment.
Fun trail related activities such as a 5k trail run, canoeing/kayaking, guided hikes, and local tours.
2012 featured speakers/authors included: Warren Doyle, record holding 16 time thru hiker; Gene Espy, second person to ever thru hike the AT in 1951; Paralee Dawson, section hiker and author; Sandra Friend, author of over 15 hiking guidebooks; and Johnny Molloy, author of over 38 hiking guidebooks.
Films will include: Flip Flop Flippin, a film by Scott “Squatch” Herriott
The Trail Fest will be a fun filled weekend celebrating Dahlonega’s Trail Community designation, the importance of the Appalachian Trail to Dahlonega and Lumpkin County, the significance of Dahlonega to the many users of the AT, and all aspects of responsible use of the north Georgia forests for recreation.
