HemlockFest is an annual festival to increase public awareness of Eastern and Carolina hemlock tree problems to provide financial support for Area Colleges and Universities in their efforts to save the Hemlocks. If you have visited the western North Carolina mountains near Grandfather Mountain you can see that most of the Hemlock trees have been killed by the whooly adlegid. Hemlockfest proceeds are used to help save these ancient trees.
HemlockFest features 19 bands and entertainers providing almost 30 hours of great music, plus food and beverage, natural crafts vendors, interactive presentations and exhibits, and lots of activities. Terrapin Beer is one of those beverage options which we love. Prior years have had Terrapin’s Wake and Bake Stout- yummy.
This year’s festival will feature over 30 juried booths with all handmade or homegrown work made by the crafts-person who is in the booth to sell it. Buy your holiday gifts with local artists including painting, jewelry, pottery, natural skin care, batik clothing, crochet, plants, baked goods, woodworking, candles, metal working, up-cycling, fiber arts, service booths and more!
Make your plans now to stay with us and enjoy 3 days of fun and music that supports a great cause to save the Hemlock Trees.
