Wolf Mountain Winery 2016 Themed Sunday Brunches

Wolf Mountain Vineyards is only 1.5 miles from our inn and has Sunday vineyard luncheons March through mid-December with seatings at 12:30 and 2:30pm.

Past guests have really enjoyed the brunches and consider it to be a great194 weekend finish after enjoying Mary Beth’s sumptuous breakfast at the inn.

Each month the winery features a different theme.

The cost for the Sunday Brunch is $32 per person, plus tax and gratuity and wine is additional by the glass or bottle.

Casual attire is recommended.

Dahlonega Valentine’s 2016

Cottage Winery and Vineyard:

Located 12 miles from our inn in neighboring White County. The owner is usually there to pour the wines and is very friendly and informative. The views from the tasting room are outstanding!

This year they have brought in an amazing chocolatier to hand craft some “twisted” treats to pair with a selection of Cottage wines. Come join Nathan “TooTall” in their Agape Barrel Room for a great Valentine’s Day experience!

When: Saturday, February 13th & Sunday, February 14th from 1-5 pm both days. Come and go as you please.

Cost: $40 per person/ $80 per couple will get you a pairing of 7 wines with hand crafted chocolates, 10% off any purchases made (wine club members add this to current discount), and a chance to buy one of the first bottles of their new Syrah 18!

Three Sisters Winery and Vineyards:

Located in Lumpkin County just 9 miles from Cedar House Inn and one of our favorites and a favorite of many of our

guests. Doug Paul, the owner is usually there to talk about their great wines.

Celebration is Saturdays (11-5) and Sundays (1-5). $20 includes choice of 5 Three Sisters Wines, Dahlonega Artisan Chocolates, and Keepsake Glass.

Yonah Mountain Vineyards:

Located in neighboring White County. Beautiful winery and fun owner. Their Valentine’s special is two glasses of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Price – $15 per couple (February 12 – February 14.  While Supplies Last).

They are also having a movie night 2/13 with the movie “Dirty Dancing” and includes dinner at Yonah Mountain Vineyards. (Advance Reservations Required) Price – $40 per person (Advance Reservation Required)

Wolf Mountain Vineyards:

The closest winery to our inn – just 1.5 miles. They are having Valentine’s Brunch all month on Sundays in February. 12:30 and 2:30 pm seatings, $32.00 per person. Reservations and more information at 706-867-9862.

Frogtown Vineyards:

Located in the Dahlonega area; they are having a Valentine’s Dinner on 2/13 at 7:00 pm, $78.00 per person. Call 706-865-0687 for information and reservations.

Montaluce Winery:

WINTER + WINE + WEEKENDS = A Winning Combination in Dahlonega

Winter 2016 is here in Dahlonega and the north Georgia mountains. The holidays are over, the crowds of tourists have left, the area is quiet and tranquil and for the first time in years all of our local wineries will be open on the weekends beginning January 16th – all but two will be open the weekend of the 8th.

Three Sisters opens mid-January for weekends; Montaluce opens 1/14; Cavender Creek weekends; Cottage Winery and Yonah Mountain weekdays and weekends; Wolf Mountain and Frogtown are open weekends. You can check their web sites or call them for details.

Take advantage of the quiet season in our area. You can check the weather and make last-minute reservations for dining and lodging with us – no two night minimum except Valentine’s Day weekend.

Hiking in the winter months is beautiful because the mountain vistas open up with the leaves off the trees. You literally can see for miles in many areas along the Appalachian Trail. The temperatures are colder and at times the wind might be blowing so wear appropriate clothing in layers. You might even see snow.

The waterfalls in the area are also special in the winter. Some may be covered in ice depending on the temperatures. Two of our favorite waterfall hikes are Amicalola and DeSoto Falls.

Historic downtown Dahlonega’s quaint shops and restaurants are open without the crowds. Live music is typically offered on weekends.

Dahlonega’s 2015 Wine Trail Weekend 8/22-23

Come stay with us and enjoy a Leisurely Weekend of Wine Tasting at  Dahlonega’s Wine Trail Weekend August 22-23.

This special event weekend will begin Saturday, August 22nd from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm and continueEventPhotoFull_Wine Trail Logo Sunday, August 23rd from 12:30 pm until 5:00 pm.

Wine Trail event passports are $30 per person including a Souvenir Glass (for the first 1,200 people). The passport is good for the weekend of August 22 & 23 for one visit to each of the five wineries. Ticket stubs in the passport are redeemable at each winery for free tastings.

Participating wineries include Three Sisters, Montaluce, Cavender Creek, Wolf Mountain and Frogtown.The local tasting rooms in downtown Dahlonega will also offering discounts and specials for passport holders.

Passports are available, and wine trail patrons are encouraged to begin the event, at the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Visitors Center located on the historic square in downtown Dahlonega.

Wine Highway Weekends in March 2015

Come stay with us and attend the Wine Highway Weekend.

The Winegrowers Association of Georgia is holding their Annual Spring Wine Highway Weekends March 21 & 22, and March 28th & 29th 2015.

georgiawinehighwayweekendThis year will be their biggest event with 18 members participating. In Dahlonega Montaluce and Cavender Creek Wineries will participate. There are also any more wineries in neighboring White County that will also be a part of the event.

If you have not participated before, you pay your admission fee ($40.00/person) at any of the participating wineries. You will receive a souvenir glass and Passport that you will take to each winery you visit.  Your admission allows you access to all participating wineries over both weekends so you can take your time and enjoy the experience.

Dahlonega Wine Walk

Come and stay with us and visit the wine tasting rooms in downtown Dahlonega. Purchase aWine_Walk_Passport_Logo passport to try all the tasting rooms for one price.

The Wine Tasting Passport includes wine tastings at five downtown tasting rooms, all within walking distance of each other. The Dahlonega Wine Walk is a self-paced, self-guided walk. Tasting Rooms include Canvas & Cork, Dahlonega Tasting Room, Folkways Craft Gallery & Cottage Vineyard Tasting Room, Georgia Winery of Dahlonega Tasting Room, and Naturally Georgia.

Wine Walk Passports are available at the Dahlonega Visitors Center located at 13 South Park Street for the cost of $25 per passport (a savings of $15 if done separately). This passport is good for 4 tastings at each of the 5 wine tasting rooms all in Historic Downtown Dahlonega featuring Georgia Farm Winery Wines. The passport is good for a year after purchase, so they you can always come back and visit again!

Winery Trail Run 12/13/2014

Come stay with us and attend “It’s a RUNderful Life” 3/6k trail run (walkers welcome!) on 12/13/2014,runderful life at beautiful Montaluce Winery & Estates in the scenic north Georgia Mountains!

The race will begin at 9:00 AM, rain or shine. Montaluce Winery & Estates is a beautiful vineyard, tasting room and restaurant specializing in organic, fresh, seasonal food, most of which comes from their own property.

Choose your distance and run (or walk) either the 3k or 6k trail through the rolling hills on Montaluce’s property alongside the Etowah River, just east of Dahlonega, Georgia.

This race also has a brunch buffet option with registration ($12 for race participants, $15 for guests).

Come and experience great running, food and wine!

Packet pickup is Friday, December 12 from 11am to 6pm. Shirts are guaranteed until 12/1/2014 so register early!
